🌾 Welcome to Our Little Corner of the Country

We’re so glad you’re here. This space is more than just a bakery or a farm—it's the heart of our home, shaped by years of movement, service, and a deep desire to live simply and meaningfully.

We are a military family. Mr. PSF served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, and today he continues to serve in the private sector supporting the same mission. For two decades, we moved every three years, raised our kids in military housing, and learned how to make a home wherever we were planted—usually in the middle of big cities and busy lives.

In 2017, we took a leap of faith and planted roots in Floresville, Texas on our own little 5-acre slice of heaven. That’s when our homesteading journey truly began.

We live life on a budget, but full of richness in all the ways that matter. Our days are spent chasing chickens, wrangling goats, growing produce year-round in our in-ground beds, containers, raised beds, and greenhouse. We compost, we grow organically, and we do it all with the bees—and our health—in mind. Our farm family also includes ducks, dogs, and a few farm cats who keep things entertaining.

If we could go back, we’d spend hours at the feet of our grandparents, learning their ways. We never imagined we’d be living a lifestyle that echoes so much of what they did, but here we are—and we’ve never been more fulfilled.

Now, with our children living across different states and 16 amazing grandkids, we find ourselves busier than ever. Summers and school breaks bring a whirlwind of little feet, laughter, chores, and learning as the grandkids take over the farm—feeding animals, helping in the garden, and discovering what it means to live close to the land. Their excitement keeps our hearts full.

Mr. PSF is the builder of all dreams, crafting everything I can imagine or find on Pinterest—between his full-time job and keeping our little operation running. I’m the one behind the scenes of our Sourdough Cottage Bakery, pouring love into every loaf and cookie.

About two years ago, we committed to a lean-protein, preservative-free lifestyle, and our kitchen has never been busier. From scratch cooking and baking to preserving what we grow—canning, freezing, dehydrating—we find so much joy in feeding our family real, wholesome food all year long.

This blog is our space to share what we’ve learned, what we’re still figuring out, and everything in between. Life is an adventure, and we’re taking it one day, one bake, and one season at a time—with open hearts and muddy boots.
